Around 80 tricycles impounded in Manila due to ECQ violation

Authorities on Monday morning impounded some 80 tricycles in Quiapo, Manila  for operating despite the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ), which bans public transportation.

In the photos tweeted by Super Radyo dzBB’s Isa Avendaño-Umali, the tricycles were impounded at the Plaza Miranda near Quiapo Church.

Major Aldrin Balagat of the Plaza Miranda Police Community Precinct said they impounded the vehicles in light of the suspension of the public transportation under the ECQ.

To provide transportation for frontliner healthcare workers, the city government of Manila already hired 189 electric tricycles in March to ferry them to hospitals. --Joviland Rita/KBK, GMA News
