Rosario Maclang Bautista Gen. Hospital to be disinfected after a number of employees got COVID-19

A hospital on Batasan Road in Quezon City announced on Sunday it will undergo "thorough disinfection" after some of its employees tested positive for COVID-19.

The Rosario Maclang Bautista General Hospital (RMBGH)'s wards, emergency room, admitting areas and other critical areas will undergo wall-to-wall disinfection, said hospital officer-in-charge Dr. Maria Rosela Espinar in a statement.

"Other frontliners who have been in close contact with those who tested positive for the virus have already undergone self-quarantine during the temporary shutdown," Espinar said.

"We would like to assure the public that areas where patients are located are safe and will continue with its regular operations," she added.

The public may go to the Quezon City General Hospital and Novaliches District Hospital for outpatient operations and other medical needs, the hospital said.

As of Saturday, 764 people in Quezon City were confirmed to have COVID-19. Total recoveries numbered 45, while the death toll reached 60.

Nationwide, there were 4,648 confirmed COVID-19 cases as of Sunday, the Department of Health said. Of this number, 297 died while 197 recovered. —KG, GMA News
