Fire trucks spray Manila streets with disinfectant vs. COVID-19


Shortly after Pasig City government used drones to disinfect its city streets in their bid to curb the spread of COVID-19, the City of Manila conducted to a city-wide disinfecting operation on Tuesday morning.

As seen in a video shared by Super Radyo dzBB’s Isa Umali, authorities used powerful hoses to sprayed disinfectant several feet into the air, with the mist reaching vehicles and some buildings on the side of the road.

 

 

Fire trucks used in the operation were seen on streets such as Jose Abad Santos Avenue in Tondo, as well as in front of the Manila City Hall.

Metro Manila, along with the entire Luzon, is on its 2nd week of enhanced community quarantine set until April 13.

President Rodrigo Duterte has also placed the entire country under state of calamity, allowing the government to tap more funds to contain the spread of the virus.

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Philippines have reached 501 as of Tuesday morning,  along with 33 deaths. — Margaret Claire Layug/LA, GMA News
