Muntinlupa City now under 24-hour curfew amid enhanced community quarantine
A 24-hour curfew was imposed on Muntinlupa City starting Friday amid the Luzon-wide extended community quarantine due to the COVID-19 threat.
Under Ordinance 2020-074, residents will not be allowed outside their homes except under certain exemptions.
Those found violating the curfew for the first offense will have the violation recorded in a blotter and their benefits such as scholarship (MSP), zero-interest loan (Dagdag Puhunan) and the like canceled.
Succeeding offenses will result in the person being disallowed from receiving relief goods and other assistance during the quarantine period. The incident will also be recorded in a blotter with the barangay.
The said curfew ordinance passed by the Sangguniang Panlungsod is in accord with President Rodrigo Duterte's order to place Luzon under enhanced community quarantine from March 17 to April 12, the local government said.
The LGU also said the previous curfew from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. is not effective as people still roamed about. —KG, GMA News
