Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto says LGUs should copy best practices
Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto on Thursday appealed to the public to stop comparing local government units with one another.
Interviewed on “24 Oras,” Sotto said that instead of comparisons, he urged local government units to copy each others’ best practices.
“Sana ‘wag na natin ikumpara sa isa’t isa ‘yong mga LGU. Kung constructive, okay lang naman,” he said.
“Pero kasi kami dito sa Pasig, ‘pag may nakikita po kaming magagandang practice sa ibang LGU, ginagaya rin po namin,” Sotto added.
He said Pasig adopted a lot of practices from other LGUs such as Valenzuela City’s anti-panic buying and hoarding ordinance.
“Kailangan po ‘yong mga LGU, hindi po dapat negatibo ‘yong komparison, kundi magtulungan na lang po kami,” he said.
Sotto. who became the top trending on Twitter earlier, said he just wants to focus on doing his job amid ongoing threat of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
To curb the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), Pasig has set its sights to technology and bought drones to disinfect the city.
Pasig also turned Dahlia Hotel into a quarantine facility for persons under investigation for the COVID-19.
