Navy to cooperate in PNP probe on vehicular accident, vows sanctions vs. offenders
The Philippine Navy has said it will assist the Philippine National Police (PNP) in the investigation regarding the collision between one of their transport vehicles and a passenger jeepney that happened along Chino Roces Avenue, Makati City on Friday evening.
In a statement, the Philippine Navy said two of their personnel were brought to the Manila Naval Hospital after sustaining minor injuries. They are now resting inside their quarters.
"We will commit cooperation in the designated authority to enlighten our stakeholders as to real account of the incident. Rest assured, the PN [does] not tolerate [misdemeanor] from our ranks and if [there] will be a liability, offenders will be subject to corresponding punishments based on our existing policies and regulations," it said.
The Philippine Navy added it has no knowledge of what happened to the injured passengers afterwards, but they were informed about the arrest of the driver who previously attempted to escape.
