Heavy traffic seen on EDSA near provincial bus terminals as Pinoys head to provinces
Traffic became heavy on EDSA as early as before 4 a.m. on Sunday around provincial bus terminals as passengers bound for provinces arrived in droves for trips to their hometowns.
On EDSA southbound, the tail end of the traffic has already reached the EDSA-Timog flyover as of before 5 a.m. and reached Cubao, according to a report by Manny Vargas on Super Radyo dzBB.

City buses jostled for space to unload passengers in front of provincial bus terminals along EDSA-Kamuning and EDSA-Cubao even as provincial buses left their terminals for their routes.
Traffic was still heavy on EDSA-Cubao southbound as of 6:15 a.m.

Passengers queued on the roadside to get inside terminals for seats on buses bound for Batangas, Laguna, and Quezon, among others.
Meanwhile, on EDSA-Pasay City, traffic was also heavy as of 6:20 a.m. as taxis and pedicabs also crowded near terminals to pick up passengers alighting from provincial buses, according to a report by Mao dela Cruz on Dobol B sa News TV aired on GMA News TV.

Sunday's traffic was worse than that of Saturday as more passengers trooped to the terminals to spend the three upcoming holidays in their hometowns.
Monday, Dec. 30, Rizal Day is a regular holiday, while Dec. 31, the last day of the year, is a special non-working holiday. January 1, New Year's Day, is also a regular holiday. —KG, GMA News
