Divisoria fruit prices remain reasonable days before the New Year

Prices of "round" fruits in Manila's Divisoria district remained reasonable three days before the New Year, according to Bernadette Reyes' Saturday report on Balitanghali Weekend.

Six kilograms of grapes from China was still selling at P650, while 9-10 kgs of grapes from the US was priced at P1,400.

Meanwhile, three ponkans were selling for P20, red apple prices ranged from P10 to P20, a green apple went for P25, oranges at P20, persimmons were at three for P100, lemons could be had for P10 if they were small or at three for P50, and pears went for anywhere between P10-P50.

Vendors, however, warned that prices would likely increase once their old stocks were replaced with new ones.

Nevertheless, consumers could buy fruit this early as these would last until the New Year if stored properly. — DVM, GMA News
