Manila, San Juan declare half-day work for LGU workers on Dec. 23

The cities of Manila and San Juan declared that workers in their respective local government offices will only have half-day work on Monday, in light of the holiday season.

"Manila City Mayor declares half-day work for all local government offices today, December 23," the Manila Public Information Office said in an advisory.

San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora also issued a memorandum on half-day work suspension.

"In order to give employees of the City Government full opportunity to celebrate the Christmas holidays with their families and loved ones, all concerned are dismissed from work effective 12 o'clock noon of December 23, 2019," he said.

Local agencies involved in the delivery of basic health services, disaster response, and other vital services, however, were ordered to continue operations in San Juan.

Filipinos traditionally spend the Christmas holidays with their families in their hometowns.
