Duterte wants to ride around Metro Manila on motorcycle —PSG
President Rodrigo Duterte is planning to roam around Metro Manila on a motorcycle, the commander of the Presidential Security Group (PSG) said Wednesday.
“Pag nandito siya yun yung time niya na mag-motor. In fact, meron na naman siyang planong mag-motor. But maybe not now,” PSG chief Brigadier General Jose Eriel Niembra told reporters.
“He has a plan to go around Metro Manila on a motorcycle.”
Asked if he was amenable to Duterte’s plan, Niembra said, “I don't agree actually.”
“Kung sa loob lang po ng PSG [compound], puwede. But if he goes out, I think we should advise him na puwede naman but in a secure, controlled area.”
Niembra’s statement came weeks after Duterte said only death could keep him away from his hobby of riding motorcycles.
The President figured in a motorcycle accident inside the Malacañang Complex in October.
He sustained some wounds and bruises. A few days later, he experienced "unbearable back pain" due to muscle spasms, forcing him to cut short his trip to Japan.
In less than a week, however, he was back riding a motorcycle again.
The 74-year-old President recently said that he stretched every morning to keep his joints healthy. —NB, GMA News
