LRTA: Additional train may be used in LRT2's partial ops soon
The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) is looking into the possibility of deploying an additional train for the ongoing partial operation of the LRT2 as soon as it irons out some technical activities.
"'Yung aming engineering people tinitingnan na nila 'yung pagdadagdag ng isa pang tren so magiging anim na 'yung tumatakbo doon sa loob ng operational area natin between Cubao hanggang Recto," LRTA spokesperson Hernando Cabrera said in an interview on Unang Balita.

According to a report by James Agustin, the LRT2 used five trains on the third day of its partial operations from Cubao to Recto and vice versa.
The regular train schedule that starts at 4:30 a.m. until 10:30 p.m. has also been cut short by the fire that affected the system's power rectifiers.
Current operation starts at 6 a.m. while the last trip from Cubao is at 8:30 p.m. The last train from Recto, meanwhile, leaves at 9 p.m.
Cabrera said that the management is still awaiting the official result of the investigation from the Bureau of Fire Protection but mentioned that a lightning strike could be a possible cause of the fire that damaged its rectifiers last week. —Dona Magsino/KBK, GMA News
