Thousands take UPCAT; motorists advised to expect heavy traffic in Diliman
With thousands of senior high school students expected to take the University of the Philippines College Admission Test (UPCAT) on Sunday, motorists were advised to expect heavy traffic in Diliman, Quezon City.
The UPCAT has been scheduled on two days, October 5 and 6, and 11,000 examinees will take each session per day, the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs said.
Heavy traffic is to be expected inside the UP Diliman campus and areas around it from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m., it added.
Vehicles were seen entering the campus on Sunday as early as 5:20 a.m., according to Manny Vargas of Super Radyo dzBB.

A group of students from UP-Diliman has put up an assistance booth on University Avenue to aid motorists.

The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs also announced that the Carless Academic Oval policy will be suspended on Sunday.
The university said 90,408 took the UPCAT last year for Academic Year 2019-2020. Only 11,821 or 13% were qualified for admission.
The UPCAT is being given in Diliman and other UP campuses. —KG, GMA News
