MMDA opens children's road safety park in Manila
In an effort to teach children about road safety, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) launched a children's road safety park in Manila, according to a report by Ian Cruz on Balitanghali on Friday.
MMDA Chairman Danny Lim stressed the importance of teaching children the discipline of road safety, especially in Metro Manila were 300 road accidents were tallied each day.
Road safety would also help in decongesting traffic in the future, Lim added.
The freshly painted park, located in the Malate district, had 3 new canopy areas, as well as several plants.
According to Lim, the MMDA hoped to build more children's road safety parks.
However, due to funding limits, the MMDA was willing to settle for mobile road safety vehicles with the help of the private sector. — Joahna Lei Casilao/DVM, GMA News
