QC traffic official smashes window of parked car

Quezon City Discipline Task Force Chief, lawyer Ariel Inton, is facing charges after he smashed the window of a car that was illegally parked along Timog Avenue.

According to a report by Mark Salazar in 24 Oras, Inton had apologized for his actions, but the car owner would push through in filing a complaint.

"Nagkamali tayo sa pagbasag but if you take it out, maiintindihan naman po ng publiko saan tayo nanggagaling," Inton said in an interview on Super Radyo DzBB.

Inton admitted that he went too far.

"I must admit, I overdid it. Nawala po tayo sa tamang diskarte. Kaya po binasag 'yun dahil po ito ay stalled at kailangan maialis," he said.

According to Inton, they tried to call the owner of the car but he wasn't present.

He also clarified that he had to smash the window so they could tow the car.

"HIndi po ito ginawa para maging siga o power tripping lamang. Layunin lamang po ng QC Task Force na magamit ng publiko ang bangketa," Inton said, adding that the car has been parked for a long time.

We received reports that the sidewalk could not be used by the public, he added.

The Quezon city government is conducting an investigation on the matter.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government ordered local government units to conduct and finish clearing operations along roads and sidewalks before the deadline on September 29.  — BAP, GMA News
