Pasig equips traffic enforcers with body cams to prevent incidents of abuse

The Pasig City government has deployed 190 traffic enforcers equipped with body cameras to minimize incidents of extortion and abuse.

"'Blue Boys' na nangongotong? Nambabastos? Nagpapahinga habang nagbubuhol-buhol na ang intersection? Our deployment of 190 traffic enforcers with #BodyCams should help us minimize this," said Mayor Vico Sotto on Facebook.

More traffic enforcers with body cameras will be deployed soon, he added.

Aside from this, Sotto said training and re-training for traffic enforcers are ongoing, as well as the filing of cases against erring enforcers.

"Tuloy-tuloy din ang training at re-training ng mga enforcer, at pagsasampa ng kaso sa mga nahuhuling tiwali," he said.

Sotto also assured the enforcers that he will support them as long as they are doing the right thing.

"I also assured them that if they are doing the right thing, I will protect them; kaya di na nila kailangan matakot pag pinakitaan ng calling card ng kung sinuman," he said. —KBK, GMA News
