Manila to give P1,000 monthly allowance to PLM, UDM students in good standing
Students at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) and the Universidad de Manila (UDM) in good standing will soon receive a monthly allowance of P1,000 from the city government.
City Ordinance No. 8568, signed by Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso on Wednesday, provides for a P1,000 monthly allowance to "qualified students" of PLM and UDM.
Present during the signing at the Manila City Hall was UDM president Atty. Ernesto Maceda Jr. and PLM president and former Social Welfare undersecretary Emmanuel Leyco.
The ordinance was part of the city’s social amelioration program that seeks, among others, to provide livelihood even to senior citizens and PWDs, and better health care for city residents.
