Vico Sotto leads launching of Pasig FOI center

Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto on Monday launched a center where residents could ask details about projects by the local government or even raise various complaints, from garbage collection to arrogant city hall employees.

A report by Mark Salazar on Balitanghali quoted Sotto as saying that the "Ugnayan sa Pasig" center is in accordance with the city's Freedom of Information ordinance.

Residents asking information about a certain project in the city will only have to wait 10 minutes, the report said.

In a Facebook post on Sunday, Sotto bared that P1.4 billion worth of supplies and equipment are yet to be accounted for.

Sotto said they are not blaming anyone but are merely looking for the inventory.

During Monday's flag-raising ceremony, Sotto also announced that street sweepers in the city will now have to work for five days only instead of six.

He also said he is set to fire several traffic enforcers within the week due to various complaints of abuses. —KBK, GMA News
