Blumentritt Road in Manila now clear of vendors
Almost a week after Manila Mayor Isko Moreno ordered clearing operations in the city's major streets, Blumentritt Road in Sta. Cruz remained clear and passable on Monday, according to a report by Jonathan Andal on GMA News' Unang Balita.
Residents said even buses can now pass freely on what used to be a road crowded with illegal vendors.
The vendors have since moved to the sidewalks.

Manila Police said it used to take 10 to 20 minutes to traverse Blumentritt Road, but now, it only takes one minute.
This resulted in faster travel and added trips for jeepneys.
Manila Police also said a private company volunteered to sponsor the flushing operations on Monday morning to clean the road of dirt.
Moreno, in an interview on Unang Balita on Monday, said he will try his best to sustain his drive to rid Divisoria and other major streets of illegal vendors — a drive that earned him national commendation over the weekend. —KG, GMA News
