Joy Belmonte proclaimed as QC mayor; Gian Sotto is vice mayor
Incumbent Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte and incumbent Councilor Gian Sotto were proclaimed on Tuesday morning as the new mayor and vice mayor respectively of Quezon City.
Belmonte garnered 469,480 votes, and bested her opponents, among them incumbent Quezon City Representative Bingbong Crisologo.
Sotto, on the other hand, had 382,393 votes.
Belmonte will take over the post of Herbert Bautista after serving as vice mayor for three terms.
"Gusto ko lang pong sabihin sa lahat ng mamamayan ng lungsod na agad-agad po kaming magtatrabaho upang siguraduhin na lahat po ng aming sinabing gagawin po namin ay magagawa na po namin sa lalong madaling panahon," she told reporters after the proclamation.
Also proclaimed winners were Onyx Crisologo as 1st District representative, Precious Castelo as 2nd District representative, Alan Benedict Reyes as 3rd District representative, Bong Suntay as 4th District representative, actor Alfred Vargas as 5th District representative, and Kit Belmonte as 6th District representative.
