Bingbong Crisologo released for further investigation
Quezon City mayoral candidate Vincent "Bingbong" Crisologo was ordered released from police custody, the spokesperson of the Quezon City Police District confirmed on Monday.
According to Police Captain Rohaina Asalan, the complaints against Crisologo and 45 others are all for further investigation.
The respondents' lawyer also filed a motion to allow the suspects to exercise their right to vote.
"All respondents were released from the custody of this unit," a report sent to GMA News Online stated.
Crisologo is facing complaints such as unjust vexation, direct assault and obstruction of justice after he allegedly tried to stop the arrest of his supporters who are supposedly involved in a vote-buying incident in Bahay Toro on Sunday.
Crisologo had denied that he is involved in vote-buying activities. —Anna Felicia Bajo/NB, GMA News
