The Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) building in Manila was damaged by the magnitude 6.1 quake that jolted Luzon on Monday.

According to the police, the EAC building and the structure next to it both moved during the earthquake.

Debris fell from the sixth floor of the school.

The building also appeared to be leaning toward the adjacent structure.

Police have already inspected the area for security and San Marcelino Street corner UN Avenue was temporarily closed for the safety of the public.

According to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), the safety officer of EAC has already been instructed to vacate and cease using the building due to the incident.

"DPWH personnel has already cordoned one lane of UN Avenue to preclude any further impact on the building which may be caused by vehicles passing through the road," DPWH spokesperson Anna Mae Lamentillo said. —Dona Magsino/NB/BAP, GMA News
