The No. 7 most wanted drug personality in Novaliches, Quezon City was nabbed by police officers of the Quezon City Police District's Station 4 in a buy-bust operation Saturday night.

Senior Inspector Dennis Francisco, chief of the Novaliches Police's Station Drug Enforcement Unit and Intelligence Branch, said neighbors tipped off the police after spotting 47-year-old Reynaldo Deloso, known to fellow pushers and users as Naldo.

Shortly after the infotext messages were received, the station's anti-drug operatives embarked on a stake-out in the vicinity of Deloso's house in the early hours of Saturday.

Francisco told GMA News that Deloso has been involved in drug trafficking and other criminal activities for several years. He was sent to jail several times before and seldom visited the area to avoid arrest.

However, Deloso took the police's bait.

"Para siyang palos at talagang naitatago niya ang illegal na aktibidad. Mabuti at may mga concerned citizen na tumutulong sa pulisya kaugnay ng drug war. Nag-order kami ng P27,000 na shabu. Kinagat niya at ayun, sapul," Francisco said.

The police recovered about 25 grams of shabu with a value of P170,000 from Deloso.

QCPD Station 4 commander Superintendent Rossel Cejas revealed that Deloso had been ranked the number 7 most wanted person of the Novaliches Police since 2018.

The elusive Deloso also has a criminal history that includes drugs, theft and robbery cases.

"I commend the people who sent their complaints to NCRPO's infotext project. Police Director General Guillermo Eleazar came up with that idea and this has been helping our policemen in tracking hoodlums and crime offenders," said Cejas.

Prior to Deloso's arrest,  SDEU operatives of the Batasan police arrested four individuals in buy-bust operations in Barangay Payatas.

Allegedly recovered from 50-year-old suspect Domingo Ramirez were shabu paraphernalia such as foil with some traces of shabu and five grams of suspected shabu.

Also arrested inside Ramirez's house were Christopher Casido, Mark Jason Dimapilis and Nomer Bengo.

Batasan Police commander Superintendent Joel Villanueva said that tip-offs from the public are helping police to track down drug suspects.

"Lahat sila RA 9165 ang ikakaso natin. Ang main suspect makakasuhan ng Section 5, which is selling of illegal drugs, habang yung iba Section 11, dahil nahuli sila ng ating mga pulis na bumabatak," he said. — BM, GMA News
