Cops release artist sketch of suspect in slay of QC barangay chief

Quezon City Police District authorities on Thursday released the facial sketch of one the suspects in the killing of barangay chief Crisell 'Beng' Beltran in Quezon City on Wednesday.

QCPD director Chief Superintendent Joselito Esquivel Jr. said the suspect in the artist sketch is one of the two active shooters who killed Beltran and his driver Melchor Salita.

"This is the face of the criminal," Esquivel said, adding that the bounty for the Beltran case has been raised to P5 million.

Also, he said that the witness saw the face of the gunman after he took off his mask.

Moreover Esquivel said that the facial sketch has a 90 to 95 percent of likeability to the actual appearance of the suspect, quoting the eyewitness.

Police are still looking into the angle of politics as the motive for the ambush of Beltran, who was running for a House seat representing Quezon City's Second District. —LBG, GMA News
