DSWD holds Manila Bay clean-up drive

Over 200 employees from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) cleared the trash along the Manila Bay area on Wednesday.

The event was part of the department's 68th anniversary celebrations.

Furthermore, according to a report on "Balitanghali," DSWD Secretary Rolando Bautista said that the clean-up drive was launched in line with President Rodrigo Duterte's order to have the heavily polluted bay area rehabilitated.

The agency said it has yet to relocate several families living along the bay walk.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the City Government of Manila also took part in the initiative. — Margaret Claire Layug/BM, GMA News
