Makati cops apprehend foreigners caught smoking
Authorities apprehended some foreigners in Makati City on Friday night for violating the city ordinance banning smoking.
A few Chinese nationals were caught in the act of smoking along the access roads of Valero Street, according to a report on Balitanghali on Saturday by Bam Alegre.
Despite the "No Smoking" sign, cigarette butts littered the area.
Senior Superintendent Rogelio Simon, chief of Makati Police, said they have received complaints from the public about people smoking in the area.
Meanwhile, when the cops went to Burgos Street in Poblacion, a foreigner was caught in the act trying to bribe a police officer with P3,000 cash to let his two friends off the hook for smoking.
The said foreigners will be charged with corruption of a public official, which is punishable by a fine of P20,000. —KG, GMA News
