30 transferred from Novaliches cop station after death of Genesis Argoncillo, 3 others
Thirty detainees with minor offenses have been transferred from the Novaliches Police Station to police community precincts in a bid to ease congestion at its detention facility after four detainees died recently.
According to Chino Gaston's report on "24 Oras", 125 detainees remain at the facility meant for just 30 persons.
Genesis Argoncillo, a detainee who was charged for alarm and scandal, died at the police station last week.
Police said Argoncillo died after complaining of difficulty breathing but was later found to have died because he was mauled.
Three other detainees have died over the past weeks at the Novaliches police facility. One was said to have died because he suffered a heart attack.
The PNP will have the detainees checked for their health every Friday.
Sixty have been found to be suffering from skin disorders such as boils and prickly heat at the last check-up. —NB, GMA News
