Binondo fire under control; 25 families rendered homeless

Firefighters declared the fire that hit a building in Manila's Binondo district under control at past 2 p.m. Friday.
Manny Vargas reported on Super Radyo dzBB that the fire that broke out at 11:58 a.m. was placed under control at 2:02 p.m. after reaching the 5th alarm.
Bureau of Fire Protection's Superintendent Jonas Silvano said there was no more danger of the fire spreading to other parts of the Wellington Building.

Earlier reports indicated that the fire broke out at Room 401 of the Wellington Building and spread to other rooms on the 4th Floor.

BFP's Silvano clarified that the fire was under control but not yet out.
However, he assured building occupants his team will do everything to keep the fire from spreading.
The fire has affected 25 families, but there was no report of any casualties. Damage estimate was at P5 million. —LBG, GMA News
