Woman nabbed after claiming parcel containing P1.4-M ecstasy tablets
Customs operatives on Friday morning arrested a woman after claiming a package at the airport's post office containing nearly a thousand ecstasy tablets.
A Balitanghali report identified the suspect as Clarice Joy, 20.
The woman was arrested by Customs agents after claiming a parcel containing 962 ecstasy tablets worth P1.4 million.
The report said the parcel, which arrived on April 5, came from The Netherlands and was declared as a photo album.
The suspect said that a casino dealer identified as a certain Genevie Abas paid him P2,000 to claim the parcel.
She said the casino dealer gave her a fake identification card under the name of a certain Monica Santos from Quezon City, the name indicated as consignee of the package.
The Bureau of Customs and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency are conducting follow-up investigations. —ALG, GMA News
