DOTr conducts weight testing on Dalian trains

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has conducted weight testing on the light rail vehicles (LRV) of the Metro Rail Transit on Thursday evening, GMA News' Raffy Tima reported.
The tests are part of the system audit on the LRVs assembled by China's Dalian Locomotive and Rolling Stocks Co.
In the video shows one LRV with sandbags to simulate a fully loaded coach, which is part of tests to determine if the it is safe to used on the track.
The weight-testing process involves a series of steps from the installation of the weighing equipment, calibration, weighing of empty trains, weighing of fully loaded trains, data analysis, and audit report generation by TUV Rheinland.
The DOTr said the results of tests will be out in two weeks.

The trains were purchased under the Aquino administration and were first tested on the tracks about two years ago.
The LRVs were not used because these were reportedly incompatible with the existing tracks. — BAP, GMA News
