Air-conditioned buses fully booked at Araneta bus terminal
Air-conditioned buses at the Araneta bus terminal are already fully booked two days before Maundy Thursday.
According to Jun Veneracion's report on "24 Oras", only tickets for ordinary buses were available at the terminal on Tuesday.
Booking tickets for ordinary buses on Wednesday is also expected to become difficult after the government suspended work for half a day in government offices and classes in state universities and colleges, and public schools.
Six to seven thousand commuters are expected to flock to the bus terminal in Cubao on Wednesday.
"Kung meron silang date in mind, mag-advanced booking or advanced buying na sila ng ticket," Araneta bus terminal manager Ramon Legazpi said.
To avoid accidents due to drunk driving, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) conducted random breath analyzer tests among bus drivers on Tuesday.
"Kahit kaunting volume lang. kahit zero-point-one percent, iho-hold natin 'yung driver. I-endorse natin sa terminal para 'yung terminal na ang bahala sa operator na hindi pabiyahehin ang driver," MMDA spokesperson Celine Pialago said.
Land Transportation Office (LTO) personnel checked the buses before they left the terminals.
The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) reminded drivers to play only films that have been rated for general patronage during their trips. —Margaret Claire Layug/NB, GMA News
