Defective MRT3 train unloads 450 passengers at Boni Station

Around 450 passengers of the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT3) were unloaded on Saturday due to an electric failure.

An advisory from the MRT3 management said the passengers were unloaded from a northbound train at Boni Station in Mandaluyong City at 2:18 p.m. due to electrical failure of the train's motor.

"One cause of electrical failure is worn out electrical sub-components," it said.

Passengers were loaded to the next train which arrived after six minutes.

The MRT3 management said the train will undergo preventive maintenance and replacement of electrical components. —Ted Cordero/ALG, GMA News
