212 children in conflict with law in QC to spend Christmas with families
Over 200 child-offenders being housed in a Quezon City youth home will spend Christmas Day with their loved ones.
Also, the children from the Molave Youth Home, under the administration of the Residential and Rehabilitation Division of the Social Services Development Department, have benefited from a lot of NGOs' outreach programs early this month, said residential and rehabilitation division acting head Maris Casabuena.
“Part na ng naka-structure na program namin 'yan. Kung ano ang sini-celebrate sa labas, sini-celebrate din natin dito sa loob. Noong December 14 nagkaroon ng Christmas party ang Special Education Program at marami na ring nagco-conduct dito ng party para sa mga bata,” said Casabuena.
On the 25th, there will be an open house Christmas party, meaning a child’s immediate family, relatives or friends will be allowed to spend the day at the Molave Youth Home activity area.
The Molave Youth Home houses 12 girls and 200 boys of which 70 percent have cases pending in court, Casabuena said.
Since 1976, the Quezon City government has been compliant with Presidential Decree 603 in facilitating the care of children in conflict with the law. —LBG, GMA News
