Actor Cogie Domingo nabbed in anti-drug operation

Actor and model Cogie Domingo was arrested in an anti-drug operation of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on early Friday morning.

Domingo, who was arrested in a buy-bust operation at President’s Avenue in BF Homes, Parañaque, is now in the custody of PDEA Calabarzon.

In a press conference, PDEA spokesperson Derrick Carreon said aside from Domingo, Almira Bautista, and another person were arrested in a buy-bust operation at President’s Avenue, BF Homes, Paranaque.

Domingo was allegedly buying shabu from Bautista.

In a press conference, Domingo denied involvement in the illegal drug trade, saying he was just set up by the police.

GMA News TV's Quick Response Team's Jiggy Manicad said operatives found sachets of suspected shabu and various drug paraphernalia in Domingo's car.

The target of the operations was a certain Francsico Lim, who was supposedly a supplier of illegal drugs. However, authorities encountered Domingo on the site during the buy-bust operation.

Domingo and the two others arrested with him will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
