Earlier arrest warrant for Baron Geisler surfaces as he gets ready to post bail

Actor Baron Geisler was poised to post bail on Wednesday after being arrested for causing trouble in a restobar in Quezon City on Monday.

But his bid for freedom may be delayed after police found an outstanding arrest warrant for the actor issued by the Municipal Trial Court in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.

According to a report by Jay Sabale on Unang Balita on Wednesday, Geisler violated the Civil Aviation Law when he allegedly smoked inside a plane.

The actor is now facing three complaints: unjust vexation, alarm and scandal, and a violation of the Civil Aviation Law.

Geisler was calmer on Tuesday after spending time behind bars. He was also temporarily brought out of jail for inquest proceedings on Tuesday.

He said it was better to be arrested for disagreeable behavior instead of falling prey to "Tokhang," or being involved with illegal drugs.

"Well, mas mabuti naman 'to kaysa ma-Tokhang 'di ba? Tsaka peke-pekeng gawa-gawa ng mga pulis na 'to," Geisler told reporters.

Police are awaiting a court-granted release order for the actor but he will not be free to leave until he has settled bail for all three of his cases.

Geisler has a publicized history of being apprehended by authorities for driving under the influence of alcohol, acts of lasciviousness, and vandalism, among others. —Nicole-Anne C. Lagrimas/KG, GMA News
