Authorities believe the waste came from Cavite, Laguna, and Bataan.
DPS conducts the massive cleanup during weekends to avoid causing traffic because of the trucks that come in droves to haul off the garbage collected.
They said about 25 truckloads of garbage are collected every time especially when the southwest monsoon affects the country.
The Manila City Hall also invited volunteers to participate in the International Day of Coastal Clean-Up on September 16. —Akari Nakano/KG/KVD, GMA News
