Parts of Metro Manila flooded after heavy rain
Heavy rain on early Tuesday evening brought about flooding in several areas in Metro Manila at the onset of the rainy season.
The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said as of 8:40 p.m., the following areas are flooded:
- EDSA Balintawak (NB)
- Ortigas Santolan (WB)
- Elliptical Quezon Ave. (EB)
- Vicinity of Manila City Hall (gutter deep)
- Victory Araneta (knee deep, not passable to light vehicles)

In a series of tweets by Super Radyo dzBB's Luisito Santos, floods along E. Rodriguez Ave., in front of Delos Santos Medical Center, were gutter deep past 8:30 p.m.

Waist deep floods were also reported.

PAGASA had earlier noted the onset of rainy weather across the country due to the increasing influence of the Habagat or the Southwest Monsoon.
"The occurrence of widespread rainfall recorded in most PAGASA stations monitored in the last five days... confirms the onset of the rainy season," the agency said in a statement.
"Intermittent to continuous rains and thunderstorms, associated with the Southwest Monsoon, will continue to affect Metro Manila and the western section of the country," PAGASA added.
At 9:05 p.m., the MMDA reported floods already subsided:
