NPA supporters stage lightning rally near Malacañang

New People's Army supporters held a lightning rally in Mendiola area, near Malacañan Palace on Friday, two days after the communist rebels' armed component marked its 48th founding anniversary on March 29. 

Friday's lightning rally was done in celebration of the "successful Second Congress" of the Communist Party of the Philippines.

The NPA (in Tagalog, Bagong Hukbong Bayan) is the armed wing of the CPP, organized and founded by Bernabe Buscayno A.K.A. "Commander Dante" on March 29, 1969.
