20-year-old man abducted in QC; mother appeals for help

The mother of a 20-year-old man who was kidnapped last week in Batasan Road, Quezon City is appealing to his abductors to bring him home safe.

A report by GMA News' Steve Dailisan on "24 Oras" on Thursday showed where the victim, Renzo Lopez, was last seen in front of a car wash before he was taken by unidentified armed men on board a van.

Renzo's mother, Rosario Lopez, said he went outside to buy medicines for his illness when the incident happened on March 14 around 10 p.m.

"Wala pa daw five minutes may sumisigaw na, tumatakbo sa bahay kinakatakot na yung ano namin na may dumampot kay Renzo," Rosario said.

The report said there was CCTV camera in the area, but it was not working. Witnesses, also, have reportedly refused to cooperate.

The report said Rosario has been roaming the streets to distribute flyers containing her contact details in public parks and to taxi drivers in an effort to locate her son.

Rosario said she already reported the case  to the police, who have yet to establish any lead on Renzo's abduction.

Meanwhile, Rosario called on her son to appeal his release to his abductors for the sake of his family and his health condition.

She said the suspects may have mistaken the younger Lopez as a drug suspect, saying her son was a good and friendly person.

The QCPD Station 6 refused to comment on the case, saying it is still under investigation.
