MMDA: Ban on light trucks along EDSA, Shaw effective March 20

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Monday announced that light trucks plying the southbound lane of EDSA and Shaw Boulevard will be banned starting March 20.

The MMDA said the ban covers light trucks, commercial or non-commercial, with a gross capacity weight of 4,500 kilograms and below.

Light trucks are banned in Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong and Pasig City from Monday to Saturday between 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The MMDA said the ban will be effective for three months, or until June 15.

A dry run will be held on the said routes on March 15 to 18 before the ban is fully implemented, the MMDA said. —Joseph Tristan Roxas/KBK, GMA News
