Kin seeks justice for senior citizen found handcuffed, dead
The family of the senior citizen, who was later found handcuffed and dead at Manila North Cemetery on Sunday, appealed for justice after he was allegedly killed by a police officer.
In a report by GMA News' Bam Alegre on "24 Oras", Wednesday, the victim was identified as Julito Ramos, 68.
"Tulungan niyo kami General Bato, Presidente, mga simpleng tao wala na bang karapatang magkaroon ng hustisya? Paano kami magtitiwala sa pulis ang mga katulad namin, lagi kaming natatakot," the victim's wife, who was not identified, said
"Kinuha siya, sinakay sa motor nang nakaposas.. kinaladkad, pinalo pa ng baril bago pinatay.. tinapon sa gilid ng kalsada.. naghanap kami magdamag, walang tumulong sa amin," she added.
The report said Ramos went out with a relative last Sunday to go to Talipapa, Quezon City.
He had a fight with a police who was later identified as PO1 Jerald Yabot Paguinto. The reason for their fight was still unknown.
Meanwhile, Paguinto, who was assigned at Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Station 3, was also supposedly involved in hulidap and murder cases.
GMA News went to QCPD Station 3 but the desk officer told the team to coordinate first with the station commander. — Anna Felicia Bajo/BAP, GMA News
