MMDA opens two-way EDSA-McKinley service road
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Monday opened the EDSA-McKinley Service Road to motorists to ease traffic congestion in the area, a report on Unang Balita said.
Previously one-way, the service road is now two-way where EDSA northbound motorists can turn right going to Bonifacio Global City, GMA News' Bam Alegre reported.
The service road is open to all private and public utility vehicles, including taxis, buses and jeepneys.
According to MMDA, an estimated 1,000 vehicles per hour can benefit from the opening of the service road especially that traffic flow often gets heavy at the EDSA-Ayala stoplight.
Last week, MMDA also implemented a traffic rerouting scheme for public utility jeepneys traveling toward EDSA-Guadalupe.
Jeepneys coming from Magsaysay Avenue will no longer be allowed to pass through EDSA. Instead, they will have to pass through P. Burgos Street, turn left on P. Victor Street towards Guadalupe Ilalim. —Erwin Colcol/KG, GMA News
