One of the residents, Noemi Pebenito, said her children woke her up past 5 a.m. due to the fire at their neighbor's house.
Since most of the houses were made of wood, the fire spread quickly in the area.
Investigation showed the fire started from a house rented by a certain "Lyndon Tongco" on David Street.
It added that the fire had possibly sparked from an unattended candle since there was no electric power in the said house.
Around 30 houses were affected. Property damage was pegged at P100,000.
Meanwhile, over 60 families were displaced and 2 were hurt by the fire, GMA News' Rida Reyes said.
Noemi Pebenito, one of the residents, said that her children woke her up past 5 a.m. due to the fire at their neighbor's house.
Meanwhile, two victims who are siblings said that they woke up only to find the fire already blazing through the wall of their house. Both suffered from second-degree burns.
"Pag-gising namin may apoy na, nadaplisan na kami. Salamat ay buhay kami, pero simot lahat ng gamit namin," Reia Estilloso, one of the victims said.
