Thousands flock to crowded Malabon cemetery

Thousands of people continue to flock the crowded Tugatog Public Cemetery in Malabon City on Tuesday.

An Unang Balita report said that according to police authorities, the situation inside the three-hectare cemetery, where close to 6,000 are buried, remains peaceful since October 29.

Parts of the cemetery have apartment-type tombs, some reaching six levels, due to overcrowding. 

One of the famous personalities buried at the Tugatog cemetery is ‘80s action star Benjamin Garcia, who is better known as Ben Tumbling. 

The report said some 5,000 to 6,000 people are expected to visit their dead until November 2, All Souls’ Day. —Kathrina Charmaine Alvarez/ALG, GMA News
