Korean resto in QC catches fire

A Korean restaurant in Quezon City caught fire on Tuesday night, a report on Unang Balita on Wednesday said.

The fire that hit Seoul Train Restaurant along Sgt. Esguerra Ave. started around 7 p.m. and reached the second alarm, GMA News' Athena Imperial reported.

Mike Bocaya, a construction worker in the area, claimed to have heard a loud boom before the fire started.

“May narinig kaming parang ‘bog!’ Parang sumabog. Ngayon, pagtingin namin, apoy na,” Bocaya narrated.

He said his fellow construction workers tried to put out the fire, but they failed.

The fire was put under control around 8 p.m.

According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the property damage is estimated to run up to P100,000.

“Dahil sa mga pintura at light materials na nandoon sa area kaya mabilis kumalat ang apoy,” Inspector Arvin Santiago, station commander of Galas Fire Station, said.

No one was reportedly killed or injured from the fire. —Erwin Colcol/KG, GMA News
