Filipina suspected of smuggling shabu to Malaysia nabbed in Pasay City
Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) have arrested a Filipina suspected of smuggling shabu to Malaysia.
A report on News To Go said the NBI agents arrested Enjum Jainuddin in her condominium unit in Pasay City.
The agents recovered from Jainuddin's condominium unit at least 1.5 kilograms of shabu with an estimated street value of P7 million.
Manny Payre, executive officer of the NBI's Anti Organized and Transnational Crime Division, said Jainuddin has been under their radar for allegedly smuggling shabu to Malaysia.
Payre said Jainuddin hails from Jolo, Sulu, and she takes the Mindanao backdoor to Malaysia, where she sells illegal drugs.
"Considering that sa Malaysia mahal ang shabu. Kung gusto mong kumita talaga ng malaki, you can proceed to Malaysia," he said.
Payre said the suspect hides the smuggled shabu in sandals and packs of junk foods to avoid detection in Malaysia.
Charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act are being prepared against the suspect. —report from Isay Reyes/ALG, GMA News
