Cubao terminal bus driver tests positive for drugs

A bus driver at the Araneta Center Bus Terminal in Cubao, Quezon City has tested positive for drugs.

Authorities have yet to identify the bus driver.

The bus driver’s license will be confiscated, and he will be subjected to a confirmatory test after 15 days.

If he tests positive in the second test, he will face criminal charges.

The bus driver was among those subjected to the random drug testing of the Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB).

The LTFRB said that it will subject 80 bus drivers in the random drug testing on Tuesdsay and another 80 drivers will be subjected to random drug tests on Wednesday.

The drug testing is part of the measures being implemented by the LTFRB to ensure safe trips for thousands of passengers going to the provinces for the Holy Week.

Over 8,000 passengers are expected to flock the Araneta Center Bus Terminal this Holy Tuesday. —report from dzBB's Allan Gatus/Kiernerr Gerwin Tacadena/ALG, GMA News
