EXPERIENTIAL MUSEUM TO BE PUT UP

Some roads around EDSA Shrine to be closed for EDSA I anniversary

The Metro Manila Development Authority released an advisory that White Plains Avenue and EDSA from Santolan to EDSA Shrine will be closed to traffic on February 25.

This is to give way to the commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the People Power Revolution.

Additionally, three lanes of White Plains Avenue will be closed from February 14 to February 27, although the dates may be subject to change.

The closed roads will be used to house a 500 ft. long and 30 ft. wide experiential museum showcasing life during the Martial Law era. The museum will take up three lanes and will take 50 minutes to go through.

Blocking traffic from White Plains Avenue is necessary, according to the EDSA People Power Commission representatives, to install the nine halls of the museum which depicts the events leading to the ouster of the late strongman Ferdinand Marcos Sr.

The MMDA expects a formal traffic management plan by February 10 and they are considering opening zipper lanes for vehicles. —Aya Tantiangco/KG, GMA News
