3 hurt in QC fire

Three people were reported hurt in a fire that has been raging in a factory in Quezon City for more than 12 hours now, a television report said Friday.

 

A report on GMA News TV’s News TV Live said the fire which started around 9 p.m. Thursday has affected five of the six buildings of Boxboard Container Corporation in Brgy. Bagumbayan, Quezon City.

 

The names of the injured persons were not mentioned in the report.

 

The report said said a forklift and a car parked inside the compound were also gutted.

 

It also quoted the Bureau of Fire Protection as saying that it could take them two more days to contain the blaze but assured the public that the houses near the factory will no longer be affected.

 

An initial investigation showed the fire started at the kitchen area and quickly spread due to the boxes and papers filed near the area, the report said. — Jay Sabale and Amita Legaspi/RSJ, GMA News
