LTFRB absolves cab driver from 'laglag bala' charge
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Tuesday dismissed the "laglag bala" complaint against a taxi driver accused of planting a bullet in his passenger's luggage.
A radio dzBB report said that according to LTFRB Chairman Winston Ginez, the board believed in Ricky Milagrosa's sincerity in denying the charge, as stated in his sworn affidavit.
Ginez added that the board also took into consideration Milagrosa's effort to attend the last two hearings of the LTFRB on his case.
Meanwhile, the LTFRB issued a contempt order against Milagrosa's accuser, Julius Niel Habana, for failing to attend the hearings.
Habana conducted an investigation against Milagrosa based on the Facebook post of Habana.
Habana said in his post that Milagrosa attempted to plant a bullet in his seaman friend's luggage.
The LTFRB has referred the contempt order against Habana to the Philippine National Police and the National Bureau of Investigation, the report said.
It added that the LTFRB will be forced to file a case against Habana if he would continue to fail to heed the order to appear before the agency. —ALG, GMA News
