Dangwa flower prices rise as All Souls’ Day draws near

Prices of flowers at the Dangwa flower market in Manila have started going up a week before Filipinos observe the All Souls' Day (Undas) tradition that believers mark on the first day of November.

According to reports from GMA News, an ordinary basket arrangement usually priced at P250 is now at P300, and that the price is expected to reach up to P400 once customers flock the market a few days before Undas.

Spring arrangements, priced at P500, are now at P700. One-side arrangements which are priced at P600 will now be sold at P700.

Moreover, wreath arrangements, presently at P2,500, are expected to go up to P2,700 at Undas.

Aside from flower arrangements, bouquet embellishments such as ribbons, sinamay, and stands can also be requested—also at a price.

Some of the most popular flowers around this time of year are white mums and orchids.
